Our recent report from Broome County Landfill shows that customers are incorrectly still attempting to dispose of these materials in their trash:
- Tires
- Hypodermic needles
- Yard waste (grass clippings, tree trimmings and stumps)
- Hazardous waste (mercury products, fluorescent bulbs/tubes, paints, pesticides, solvents, cleansers, liquid driveway sealer, etc.) Note: Empty and dried paint cans ARE acceptable.
- Refrigeration units (refrigerator, freezer, dehumidifier, water cooler, air conditioner, etc.)
- Light fixtures including ballasts
- Electronics (television, computers, monitors, stereos, etc.)
- Metal (stove, washer, dryer, aluminum siding, cast iron, copper, etc.)
