Do you take office equipment or furniture?

Special handling may be required for items such as furniture and electronic equipment. If your item is in working condition, you may wish to donate it to a local charity or use earth911.com, freecycle.org to find alternatives. Please call our Vestal location at 607-797-5277 for more information or to schedule a pickup.

How do I rent a dumpster or container?

Do you offer solutions for temporary projects?

Taylor Garbage offers a variety of solutions for temporary projects and events that generate additional recycling or waste materials. Remodels, renovations, retail merchandising reset, events, tenant improvements, construction, demolition, and the like often have additional short-term waste and recycling needs. Please call our Vestal location at 607-797-5277 to discuss a custom solution to meet your needs.

Are you able to take hazardous waste?

Taylor Garbage does not collect hazardous waste. Hazardous waste includes, but is not limited to: flammable products, personal care products such as medication, lead, bio-hazardous waste materials, explosives, live ammunition, or weapons. Hazardous waste is illegal to discard in your solid waste or recycling dumpster and containers. Many communities host special collection or drop-off programs for hazardous waste. Please call our Vestal location at 607-797-5277 to inquire about hazardous waste disposal in the area.

Do you have the ability to dispose of special waste?

As a licensed hauler of special waste Class I material, Taylor Garbage is permitted to collect, transport, and dispose of non-hazardous special waste including: contaminated soil, sludge, biosolids, off-specification products, asbestos, and more. Taylor Garbage can assist in profiling special waste and providing key regulatory and permitting information. Please call our Vestal location at 607-797-5277 with any questions pertaining to special waste.

Will my service be delayed by holidays?

Commercial may be affected by the holidays. Please call our Vestal location at 607-797-5277 for any questions pertaining to holidays and the collection schedule.

Recycling

What items can and cannot be recycled?

The list of accepted recyclable items varies by location and contract. For an exact list of items that can be recycled in your area, please call our Vestal location at 607-797-5277.

The following items are NOT recyclable:

  • Ceramics
  • Pyrex or other glass cookware
  • Drinking glasses
  • Disposable diapers
  • Medical waste (including needles)

The following items should not be placed in your recycling container but may have other options for recycling:

  • Clothing and shoes can be recycled by taking the items to Goodwill, a thrift store or other nonprofit location.
  • Plastic bags are recyclable but are best handled by returning them to grocery stores or other retailers that have special recycling programs.
  • Bricks, concrete, and wood are recyclable but may need to be handled separately.
  • Yard waste may be recyclable but needs to be handled separately.
  • Food waste and items contaminated with or containing food should not be placed with other recyclables. Taylor Garbage does not collect organics.

Tips for recycling:

  • Please clean and rinse cans, bottles, and jars.
  • Large pieces of cardboard and cardboard boxes should be broken down and cut into smaller pieces (preferably 3 feet x 3 feet).
  • Cartons made from aseptic packaging such juice boxes, milk cartons, or broth packaging are recyclable.

Are you able to recycle debris from construction?

Taylor Garbage works with commercial customers to develop a construction and demolition recycling solution to include common materials such as: concrete, wood, brick, stone, tile, drywall, glass, carpet, and more. Taylor Garbage has LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) experts who can assist with U.S. Green Building Council LEED project certification. Are you able to recycle electronics?

Are you able to recycle motor oil or oil filters?

Taylor Garbage does not collect motor oil or oil filters. Many communities host special collection or drop-off programs for hazardous waste. Please call our Vestal location at 607-797-5277 to inquire about hazardous waste disposal in your area.

Are you able to pick up office equipment or furniture for reuse or recycling?

Are you able to recycle polystyrene foam plastic?

We do not recycle Polystyrene foam plastic.

How do I report a problem or concern with my service?

We have a couple different ways you can report a problem or concern such as a missed pickup, damaged or missing container, as well as other issues. Billing & Accounts

Am I able to pay my bill online?

Yes, in fact we encourage customers to pay their bills online because it is better for our environment by reducing paper waste. Please click here and follow the steps to set up an online bill pay account if you haven’t already done so.

Do you charge a fuel surcharge?

At this time, we do not charge a fuel surcharge. However, Taylor Garbage reserves the right to add in a small fuel charge to accommodate rising costs if fuel increases significantly.

How do you use my billing information that I provide?

All the required information is used for internal purposes only and will not be shared with third parties.
